Why co-register at St. Jerome's

At St. Jerome’s University, we steward each student’s unique talents, nurture their ability to think critically and inspire them to become lifelong learners who seek knowledge and truth, act with compassion and advocate for human dignity for all. St. Jerome’s offers courses in Honours Arts and Honours Arts and Business, and students graduate with a University of Waterloo degree.

  • All Honours Arts and Honours Arts and Business (28 majors) are eligible for co-op
  • You can take classes at St. Jerome’s or the University of Waterloo and over half of St. Jerome’s first- and second-year courses have fewer than 30 students per class
  • Our dedicated Student Advisors can assist you with goal setting, academic program requirements, course enrolment and connecting you to campus resources and supports.
  • Our dedicated Wellness Coordinator provides a stepped-care approach to wellness which involves both preventative and proactive support – including the individual's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects.
  • Exclusive entrance scholarships and bursaries
  • Our central residence location on the Waterloo Campus is steps away from Campus Wellness and the Student Life Centre. Students from all six faculties live in our residences. As a co-registered student in the Faculty of Arts, you will be given priority when applying to live at St. Jerome’s. Our residence fees include your all-you-can-eat meal plan.

McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill Information Session

St. Jerome's University students are invited to learn about the McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill!

During this one-hour event, we’ll give a brief overview of the scholarship program, eligibility criteria, and the application process, followed by a live Q&A with a scholarship representative and a current finalist.

Please join us for the latest event in George Elliott Clarke’s 5 Poets Breaking into Song.

The mightiest songs? Poetry put to music and sung! Throughout this series, George Elliott Clarke, former Poet Laureate of Canada, has commissioned 8 composers to transform 90+ Canadian poems into art-songs of all genres.

Come and hear live performances of 12 songs by 7 composers, with introductory readings by some of the poets.

Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life

Relay for life events strike a beautiful balance of creating space to share our real encounters with cancer in an atmosphere of community care that is also rooted in a spirit of hope which embraces the healing power of fun and laughter. At the event, teams will walk a track as a symbol of the fight against cancer and engage in meaningful ceremonies that honour our loved ones as well as entertainment and fun team challenges.

March Open House

Come and join us at our March Open House where you can chat with professors about programs of interest, connect with current students, and explore campus through guided tours of academic spaces and residence.

  • Student Ambassadors will be running tours of our academic and residence spaces throughout the day.
  • Professors and current students from each of the 10 majors offered at St. Jerome's will be available to answer questions about our academic programming, course offerings, co-op, study abroad options and research opportunities.
  • The Student Affairs Team will be on-site to provide information about our student supports and to answer questions about the unique student experience at St. Jerome's.

Open house guests are encouraged to utilize our free parking at St. Jerome’s for the day – our gates will open at 9:00 a.m.
